Explores hardening behaviour of taut lines. Additionally, introduces low-fidely semi-analytical equivalents for taut lines for conceptual design and optimisation.

    Scientific Impact: First hybrid study of floating photovoltaic (FPV) platforms incorporating the platforms hydro-visco-elastic response and the optoelectrical consequenses. Real data on sea-state and irradiance.
    My contribution: Developed the underlying hydro-visco-elastic model. Simulated response of FPV platform for irregular sea-state over 1 year, with spectrum updated every hour. Analysed the influence of the number of pontoons, their mass, thickness and bending stiffness on the FPV's floating body response and loads.

    Scientific Impact: A statistical method for linking the snap loads in catenary line with the incoming sea-state.
    My contribution: Developed the underlying geometrically nonlinear mooring line model. Conducted simulations of catenary lines at 10 water-depths with 300 irregular sea-states each.
